How do the healers get away with it? In the first place, over 90% of all troubles in
the digestive system are caused by nerves instead of physical disease as our
physicians admit. All self-styled and falsely called healers know that if an
individual's problem is brought on or aggravated by nerves, then all he or she must do
is get the individual to relax and believe in his "imaginary power." If and when that
happens, the problem will indeed vanish because it was caused by nerves which are now
quieted.

Because of this, most of all platform-type-public-healing deals with internal maladies
which are matters the audience cannot see. Close to 100% of all professed and
announced cases of miraculous healings by healers can be put into one of the following
groups: 1) actors hired in large numbers to both pretend illnesses and fake a healing
miracle; 2) healers diagnosing what the illness is, as the individual in the healing
line tells him his symptoms then by not being required to certify the diagnosis
through an honest reliable doctor, the healer can declare the person has some
incurable malady even if it is, in truth, an upset stomach or heart burn thus the
miraculous cure; 3) under the excitement and hypnotic state into which the individual
is placed, the victim is observed walking or running or over-exerting themselves only
to die within 48-hours of the publically viewed miracle healing though on the night of
the miracle cure the crowd saw him healed; 4) some, however, whose trouble was brought
upon them by nervousness and stress are coaxed into resting and trusting in the healer
with the victim then losing the symptoms of sickness; 4) among cancer patients it has
been discovered there is a healing and recuperative power in positive thinking which
in cases folks properly diagnosed with cancer go into verified remission after going
to a healer however, M.D. Anderson in Houston and other cancer institutions have
discovered any object of positive thinking, crystals, pagan religions or just
clinically focused positive thinking can accomplish the same thing in some patients.

In no case is one actually and miraculously healed by one of these ministers of Satan.
It is interesting. A number of years ago the infamous faith healer Kathryn Kulhman
conducted a healing at the Sam Houston Colliseum in Houston, Texas. Hours before the
event, ambulances lined up dropping off seriously ill and crippled people lying on
stretchers. A large number of these people were lined up on their stretchers in the
side halls of the collesium. It looked like a triage in a combat zone. After hours of
lying there, when the program was concluded, these same people were loaded back into
the ambulances and vans, still suffering and never being made a part of the program.

Evidently, their illness were the wrong kind or perhaps Miss Kulman was just too busy
to get around to them. Those meetings are very tiring and of course, Miss Kulman was
ill herself.

Miss Kulman utilized a blow to the forehead in her performance. Interestingly, the
blow to the forehead is a hypnosis technique taught in hypnosis schools.

Curiously, the anti-Christ will also appear to work miracles according to II
Thessalonians 2:8-10. His, like theirs, are "lying wonders" designed to deceive people.

Just so, Pharaoh's magicians tried to emulate the miracles of God performed through
Moses and Aaron in Exodus 7:10 and 8:19. Again, this was repeated by one Simon the
sorcerer who by trickery "bewitched the people" (Acts 8:9). When he observed two of
the apostles doing the real thing in Acts 8:17-21, he wanted that power. However, in
his case, as is true of all today, being not of the apostles who alone were empowered,
he and all modern day practitioners of profane "lying wonders" could have "neither
part nor lot in this matter" (Acts 8:12).

Satan can cause illness. Note afresh the case of Job in Job 1:1-2; 6. Then in the
N.T., God allowed Satan to test Paul in a similar way. Note, "there was given to me a
thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted
above measure" (II Cor 12:7). God did not choose or will to remove Paul's infirmity.
Rather God supplied sufficient grace to perfect Paul's strength in his time of
physical weakness.

David praised God for allowing sickness to enter his life for his own good and for
God's glory. (See Psalms 41:3; 119:71)

How may folks be healed? Reasonably, they may be healed by medicine (Isa 38:21; I Tim
5:23; Mt 9:12). In the 1,000 year reign with Christ, Isaiah 33:24 assures us there
will be no sickness.

God's personal intervention can heal (Mt 8:3; Lk 5:25). That God intervenes and spares
men's lives even when doctors have given them up no one can deny. However all the
miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit were given only by the laying on of the Apostles'
hands and lasted only while the Word of God was being miraculously given. When the
Word was completed as to the 66 books of the Bible, all these things ceased.

One must always distinguish between faith and blind presumption or assumption. God's
conditions for answered prayer are: 1) ask in faith; 2) in the name of the Son; 3)
according to the promises of the written Word of God; 4) according to the will of God.

It would be as ridiculous to pray that all Christians might be rich in this world's
possessions. No assurance is given in the Bible that God's will is for every believer
to be a millionaire in this world's currency. Neither is there a promise in the Word
that God's will is for every believer to be totally free from illness.

What should one do if illness strikes in the home? Judge yourself by the Word of God
and confess your sins as a believer. If your illness is caused by God's chastening,
you will recover. Next, commit your life, body and will to God's grace asking for
recovery if it be His divine and sovereign will. Thirdly, get medical counsel and use
every means God has given to men available to aid the natural healing processes of the
body. As long as we are in these bodies we are subject to disease and illness. Read
Romans 8:22-23 for our hope. JM
